1973 Lola T292 - Inquire - La Jolla, CA -

History: Built in September of 1972 as the prototype T292. First raced at the Jarama Circuit in Spain at the end of the 1972 season. Raced in 1973 by Guy Edwards with Barclays International sponsorship as a Lola Works entry in the European 2.0 Liter Sports Car Championship with wins at Auvergne and Zeltweg and a 2nd place at Magny-Cours, which resulted in a third place in the championship. Edwards also raced the car at the FIA World Championship of Makes 1000 km races at Dijon, Spa, and the Nurburgring. This famous car was then sold to Martin Raymond whose Target Racing Team raced the car in the 1974 season at 1000 km races at Spa, Nurburgring, Paul Ricard and Brands Hatch. During the 1975 season it raced again at the 1000 km of Monza, Spa and the Nurburgring. The car was then sold to the USA where it raced in the under 2-Liter Can Am events at Mid Ohio, Mosport and Watkins Glen. With the car comes original Barclays International press releases announcing the backing of the Lola Works entry, period race photos, correspondence from Lola Cars and a list of all of the owners.

Condition: Now professionally restored by marque experts, this car is beautifully turned out in Barclay's period livery. Powered by a low time, 2.0 liter Cosworth BDG on fuel injection rebuilt by VDS Engine Services. A low-time Hewland FG 5 speed gearbox. This car has excellent records for preparation, from engine build sheet to most recent crack check results on magnesium parts, brake and suspension rebuilds, etc. Was with 2-liter expert Dave Vegher of Veloce Motors in Petaluma. Most recently with Louie Shefchik of J & L Fabricating in Seattle. Two of the best shops!
